Honk! the Ugly Ducklink - by Las Positas College
Theater. The Las Positas College Theater, Music and Dance Departments present Honk! the Ugly Duckling musical, for three weekends of performances, beginning April 1. Performance dates are April 1, 2, 8, 9, 15 and 16 at 8:00 PM and April 10 and 17 at 2:00 PM. The new musical comedy, by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe is a family oriented show that will appeal to children and adults alike. With a tuneful, pop score and delightful characterizations, it retells the Hans Christian Anderson story of the out-of-place duckling who eventually discovers he is a swan. The show originated in England, where it won the 2000 Olivier Award for best new musical, beating out both The Lion King and Mamma Mia in the process. The cast features Jed da Roza as the duckling, Judy Gilmer and Mike Stark as his mother and father, and Robert Sholty as the villainous cat. Danny Cozart plays the Bullfrog, Amanda Poryes and Brittanie Johnson are Queenie and Lowbutt; TJ da Roza and Kristen Francis portray Greylag and Dot. Alexis Clappin, Brinda Dixit, Ryker Johnson and Abigail Vass play the duckling’s young brothers and sisters. Other cast members include Pam Aquilar, Marisa Borowitz, Richard Cook. Tyler Crabe, Sieu Inac, Andrea Mendez, Dorothy Mickle, Hannah Muelder and Angus Ross. Tickets prices are $ 14.00 general admission, $10 for students and
seniors and $8 for children under 12. They may be purchased at the Las
Positas College Bookstore, at Altamont Books in Livermore and Camerata Music

Teen Art Accepted for Livermore Library Show Teen Art on Display at the Livermore Library The Livermore Public Library invites youth to participate in the Livermore Lives Teen Art Exposition! Livermore residents in the sixth through twelfth grades are encouraged to submit a piece of original art, visually expressing a distinct perspective on life in Livermore now or in the past. Entries will be accepted Sunday, April 3 through Sunday, April 9 at the Livermore Civic Center Library. Works will be displayed from April 28 through May 27 in the library art gallery. There will be an artist reception on Saturday April 30 from 2-5 pm. Days of Wine and History “Days of Wine & History,” a wine tasting and history event of the Livermore Valley Wine Region, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2005, beginning at the Museum On Main Street, 603 Main Street, Pleasanton. Museum Board member Mary Dillon will be the tour guide aboard the Dreyer’s Ice Cream Bus to three historic Livermore Valley wineries where guests will enjoy wine tasting and get historic perspectives of the wineries. Attendees will board the bus on Peters Street, near Division Street and the Museum On Main Street. Box lunches and bottled water will be provided for a picnic at one of the wineries. Motor coach and driver are being provided courtesy of Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream Foundation and Black Tie Transportation. The cost is $50 per person. Advance ticket purchase is required.
