John Oates
John Oates is one half of the best-selling duo of all time, Hall & Oates, as well as an accomplished solo artist. Singing from the time he could talk and playing the guitar since the age of five, John Oates was destined to be a musician. Born in New York City, his family moved to a small town outside of Philadelphia, PA in the early 1950s, a move that would change the course of his life. Soaking up the sounds of the 60s, John was influenced by the nascent folk scene, bluegrass, delta blues, and ragtime guitar styles, while also immersing himself in R&B legends such as Otis Redding, Sam and Dave, The Temptations, Curtis Mayfield, and Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. One of his biggest mentors was his guitar teacher Jerry Ricks, who had spent time on the road with Mississippi John Hurt and Son House, and introduced John to the music of Doc Watson and Reverend Gary Davis, passing down their signature finger and flatpicking styles.

One of These Nights - Songs of the Eagles
With five number-one singles, six Grammy Awards, five American Music Awards, and six number-one albums, the Eagles were one of the most successful musical acts of the 1970s. At the end of the 20th century, two of their albums, Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975)and Hotel California, were ranked among the 20 best-selling albums in the United States.
Originating in Folsom, California, and creating excitement all over northern California, ONE OF THESE NIGHTS brilliantly re-creates the harmonic sounds of the legendary Eagles. Blending five-part harmonies and 3 guitars, ONE OF THESE NIGHTS tightly executes the magical compositions of such songs as Best of My Love, Witchy Woman, Lyin’ Eyes, The Long Run, and the exquisitely layered Hotel California.
ONE OF THESE NIGHTS unstoppable medleys, seamless transitions, and note-perfect performances are going strong! Featuring true professional musicians and singers, the articulation, thoughtfulness, and uncompromising dedication of ONE OF THESE NIGHTS captivates the audience to where they feel like they are at an actual Eagles concert!
“It’s our commitment to The Eagles to perform their legendary music with the justice it deserves” quotes the band. Performed with enthusiasm, style, and conviction, this production is truly the most authentic, spot-on Eagles tribute yet! Leaving audiences begging for more. It’s an experience you’ll never forget!

Late Nite Catechism
Late Nite Catechism is, an uproarious piece of theater that takes audience members back – sometimes nostalgically, sometimes fearfully to the children they once were. The irrepressible Sister teaches an adult catechism class to a roomful of “students” (the audience). Over the course of the play, Sister goes from benevolent instructor, rewarding the “students” for correct answers with glow-in-the-dark rosaries and laminated saint cards, to authoritative drill sergeant. These abrupt mood swings are bound to strike a resonant chord with everyone who survived the ups and downs of going to school, with an omniscient authoritarian at the helm.

The Song of the Nightingale - Tri-Valley Repertory Theater
Book, Music and Lyrics by Min Kahng. Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Nightingale.

When Mei Lin, an ambitious kitchen-maid, hears that the Emperor of China is searching for the Nightingale, the bird whose song brings hope to the people of the land, she offers to help find and capture the bird in exchange for a lofty promotion. This transaction has tragic consequences, however, as Mei Lin soon learns that the Emperor is a foolish ruler who cannot see beyond the bird’s plain outer appearance. Pleasanton Run for Education presented by Workday
The Run for Education is the largest fundraiser that Pleasanton Partnerships in Education (PPIE) hosts each year and serves to celebrate the Pleasanton community, encourage fitness and support our public schools. The event will take place at the Alameda County Fairgrounds and will offer 5K (3.1 mile), 10K (6.2 mile) and a new 2 mile distance. All three courses are designed for participants of all ages and athletic abilities and we welcome runners, walkers and baby jogger strollers in all three events. For kids ages 3 to 10 years who are not quite ready for the longer distance, we also host a 1/4 mile fun run.

Sign up today and share with friends, relatives and work colleagues to support our schools. By joining PPIE’s Run for Education 2023, you are supporting our 15 public schools, 14,500 students and over 9,000 school families with supplemental staff (support counselors, reading/math specialists, librarians and school tech specialists), STEAM grants and innovative programs to engage students with leading businesses in the area.

We look forward to seeing you there!
