Hawaiian hula dance competition featuring hula dance groups from the Bay Area, Southern California, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah, and Japan. Local music groups playing in Arts & Crafts buildings, with over 100 vendors. Also features ethnic food booths serving Hawaiian lunches, salmon, teriyaki beef and chicken, Hawaiian shave ice, and more.

Valley Concert Choral  - An Evening of Music with Daniel Glover
Concert Pianist Daniel Glover will perform a piano recital to benefit the Valley Concert Chorale on Saturday, November 10, 2007, at 7:30 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Livermore. The church is located at the corner of 4th and L Streets. Tickets are $25.

Mr. Glover's program features two works by Beethoven, including his "Les Adieux" Sonata, the composer's only piano work which tells a specific story; Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera's Sonata No. 1, that utilizes the rhythms of his native country; Spanish composer Mompou's Landscapes, representing specific areas in Barcelona; Albeniz's La Vega (The Plain), descriptive of the gardens surrounding Granada's palace, the Alhambra; and finally, excerpts from Mozart's opera Don Giovanni are heard in Liszt's Reminiscences of Don Juan.

Mr. Glover, who is the assistant director and accompanist for the Valley Concert Chorale, is an internationally known concert pianist who has performed extensively throughout the world.

VCC's own accompanist and assistant director, Daniel Glover, will share his masterful talent at the piano to benefit the chorus. Program details TBD.
