Grand Marshall
Bio |

Dr. Kelly Bowers is honored to serve as the 2025 Grand Marshal of the Livermore Rodeo Parade, a celebration that reflects her strong and enduring connection to the Livermore community. A proud resident for over three decades, Dr. Bowers has devoted her life to education, community service, and civic leadership throughout Livermore and the greater Tri-Valley region. With more than 35 years in public education, Dr. Bowers began her career as a classroom teacher and served at every level of the educational system—from elementary through university. She served as a middle and elementary school principal, as well as district administrator in Livermore, culminating in 12 years of service as our Superintendent of Schools for the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) where she championed student success and community engagement. Throughout her acclaimed career, Dr. Bowers was known for her collaborative leadership style, student-centered decision-making, strong community partnerships, and steadfast belief in the transformative power of public education. Today, she continues her public service as President and CEO of Three Valleys Community Foundation (3VCF), where she leads regional philanthropic efforts that support mental health and wellness, opioid crisis response, education, local journalism, environmental sustainability, the arts, and essential safety net services—connecting local resources with local needs across the Tri-Valley and greater East Bay. The Bowers family’s roots in Livermore run deep. Her husband, Robert Bowers, is a proud Livermore High School Cowboy and a graduate of the Class of 1980. Together, they raised three children—all graduates of Livermore public schools. Their beloved Labrador retriever, Boomer, was affectionately known as Livermore’s first "Ambassadog" attending parades, providing comfort at vaccination clinics, visiting school campuses, and taking part in Livermore Area Recreation and Parks Department (LARPD) events throughout our community. In addition to her professional work, Dr. Bowers is a dedicated community volunteer and currently serves on the Rotary Club of Livermore Board of Directors. She has been an active Rotarian and a familiar face in the Livermore Rodeo Parade for over 25 years, participating in countless processions that commemorate our city's Western heritage and trailblazing community spirit. Dr. Bowers’ lifelong dedication to service, education, and community has made her a respected and cherished presence in Livermore and beyond. She is honored to serve as this year’s Grand Marshal and looks forward to highlighting the history, heritage, and heart of her hometown—alongside family, friends, and neighbors. |
