The Christensen Middle School Cougar Marching Band is under the musical direction of Mike Divita. They're performing for the 20th year in our Rodeo Parade.
The band is under the leadership of drum major Zoey Sagun. Today they'll perform "Advanced March" by Harold Bennett, as arranged by Larry Clark.
This is a 1949 John Deere Model "R" diesel tractor restored by Brett Gould, Norm Marciel, Mike Murray, Don Podesta, and Red Smith. It was painted by Conrad Tona and detailed by Paige Marciel. It's currently owned by Gary Marciel.
This tractor represents 100-plus years of ranching in the tri valley following the establishment of Murray Township in the 1830's. Families who endured the early hardships include Cardoza, Marciel, Murray, Castello and Holdeners. And we're looking at their descendants today.
