The Bankhead Theater Open House
September 29, 2007
This is the view from the front row center.
As luck will have it, I will be in this seat for the Shaolin Warriors Kung
Fu performance.
I hope I survive.
It could be worse. It could be Gallagher.
The few from the back row.
Taken through the open window of the sound/lighting booth.
Looking over the audio mixer to the stage. The window is
closed here.
Playing in the fountain
A performance on the plaza
The plaza during a performance, from the 2nd floor of the theater.
The box office. Not normally quite this busy, but this was
during the open house.
Everyone wants to know what this is.
Is it:
Dry Ice Smoke outlet for smoky special effects
An Air Conditioning vent
Seat effects like those at Disneyland's Honey I Shrunk the Kids
Subwoofer speaker outlet.
See the bottom of the page for the answer.

Answer:
An Air Conditioning vent
The entire area below the seating area is a giant air plenum.
Under almost every seat is about a 3 to 4" hole in the concrete for air to pass
through.
The black round box is an air vent.
