The Pleasanton Ridge is a 3163 acre park at the top of the hills between Pleasanton and the east bay.  It offers great views of Pleasanton.  East Bay Regional Parks District site

Looking south to the Vallecitos Valley

Looking southeast.  The 680 freeway can be seen as well as the Vallecitos Nuclear facility which once was a small power plant, but is now used for medical research..

Looking northeast toward Pleasanton.  The lower ridge of Mt. Diablo can be seen at the far left.

Looking northeast.  A freight train passes by on the UP tracks (formerly the WP tracks).  This is the route taken by the ACE train.  The SP right of way is nearby.  The tracks are no longer in place, but are being rebuilt by the Niles Canyon Railway..
