Rigoletto - Livermore Valley Opera
Rigoletto was written by Verdi as a social commentary on a corrupt and abusive nobility. It is a masterpiece that presents a moving and multifaceted story, juxtaposing good and evil; beauty and disfigurement, purity and promiscuity; honesty and deceit, as well as loyalty and betrayal. The gripping drama is matched by powerful melodies and dramatic orchestration, as well as some of the most compelling arias in all of opera.

Art Walk Livermore
Explore the works of over 150 artists ranging from contemporary to classical, abstract to realism, pottery to jewelry and mixed media, with subject matter from floral to figurative and much more.

ArtWalk Livermore is a different sort of festival, as the streets are kept open and art displays are clustered throughout the downtown in and around parks, sidewalks, galleries, wine bars, restaurants and shops. This allows visitors and the local community to experience all that this wine country downtown has to offer with art as the theme for the day.

Visitors can view up close the hand-painted art banners that were hung as street art in September, bid on them at the Art Banner Auction and enjoy a glass of fine local wine from our wine, beer and beverage bar at the Livermore Valley Plaza.

Also at the Plaza, select Bay Area musicians will perform free concerts all day, with cafe-style seating. See www.valleysingout.com for the lineup.

Other special art destination offerings will include open studios at Bothwell's Downtown Art Studios and Firehouse Art Studios, Blacksmith Square, exhibitions at Figurehead Art Gallery and a return of the Disabled Veteran’s Painting Program exhibit, an all-volunteer run program to help the Vets find an avenue for creative expression in a companionable environment.

An artist’s gallery and maps for the event are available online at www.artwalklivermore.com.

20% of all art sales made during ArtWalk are given back to the event. Proceeds from ArtWalk and the Art Banner Auction benefit the Bothwell Arts Center, which in turn assists many artists, performers, musicians, dancers, students and teachers of the arts with affordable working space.

Avenue Q - Tri-Valley Repertory Theater - Main Stage
Music & Lyrics by: Robert Lopez & Jeff Marx Book by: John Du Prez & Eric Idle Jeff Whitty Based on an original concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx

AVENUE Q is a gut-bustingly hilarious modern musical focusing on a group of unique 20-somethings making their way in the big city, seeking their purpose in life. Although the show addresses humorous adult is- sues, it is similar to a beloved children’s show; a place where puppets are friends, Monsters are good and life lessons are learned.

Winner of the Tony “Triple Crown” for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book, AVENUE Q is part flesh, part felt, and packed with heart. AVENUE Q is a laugh-out-loud musical that tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that although the residents seem nice, it’s clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood. Together, Princeton and his new-found friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life.

When The Lettermen take the stage it’s an instant trip down memory lane to a time when three young men in letter sweaters rode their first hit single The Way You Look Tonight all the way to the top of the charts. Over the years they’ve filled more than 50 albums with such familiar hits as When I Fall in Love and Put Your Head on My Shoulder. Once described as “the best thing that happened to romance since moonlight,” an evening with The Lettermen’s sweet harmonies proves their smooth and romantic sound simply never goes out of style.
