B17 and B24 Bombers at the Livermore Airport Vintage B17 and B24 bombers once again visit the Livermore airport. You can take pictures, walk through the planes, and talk to the crew. Flights are also available for a $400 donation. In recent years a number of other vintage aircraft, many from WWII, have also been on display. See the eLivermore photos. Buenas Vidas Youth Ranch 20th Annual Chili Cook-off Chili from hometown cooks and cooks from all of Northern California. It is an International Chili Society sanctioned event. Local dignitaries will be doing the judging, with prizes for the winners of both the ICS division and local division. Entry is $35, and requires 3 gallons of chili. There will also be arts and crafts booths, a band, some dance performances, and other activities. Hot dogs, Hamburgers, Soda, and Beer will be sold. Proceeds go to a special fund for extra outings for the boys in residence at the Ranch. Livermore's Relay for Life Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times. Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day, cancer will be eliminated. We are planning on having many teams (~50) -Survivors welcome/wanted for opening ceremonies, no registration
required. Call for info. Truly a community event, Livermore's Relay for Life is always looking for
groups, organizations and businesses to participate in many different ways.. |
