Livermore's Relay for Life
Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.
Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day, cancer will be eliminated.
We are planning on having many teams (~50)

-Survivors welcome/wanted for opening ceremonies, no registration required. Call for info.
-The Luminaria Ceremony takes place after dusk during the relay. A Luminaria is a bag filled with sand and a small candle that makes it glow. Each bag bears the name of a person who has battled cancer and is placed around the track after dark, very emotional and moving ceremony.. Public welcome, no registration required.
-Kid Zone will include a designated special area of activities for kids. Kid zone will include, jump house and/or obstacle coarse, face painting, craft area and more.

Truly a community event, Livermore's Relay for Life is always looking for groups, organizations and businesses to participate in many different ways..
Sponsor: American Cancer Society
Location:  Livermore High School
Times:  9am to 9pm
More info: To Participate, form a team or volunteer call 925-453-3420, Karen Crowson
